When you arrive at the clinic for your initial Osteopathic consultation you will be greeted by your Osteopath and given a patient questionnaire to fill out(Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to fill out patient questionnaire) Your initial visit will allow the Osteopath to take a history relating to your presenting complaint and then perform a physical assessment to help create a treatment and management plan tailored for you. Your Osteopathic treatment will then commence which will start with a massage by one of our highly skilled massage therapists, followed by treatment from Dr Mathew Kirk(Osteopath) for the the remainder of the consultation and may include posture and ergonomics advice, stretches and exercise prescription. At any point during your Osteopathic Consultation if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask Dr Kirk and he will be happy to help answer them. Osteopaths are primary health care practitioners, so you do not need a referral from your GP. Please bring any X -rays, scans or test results that you have. Remedial massage is a complimentary therapy that aims to treat muscles that are damaged, knotted, tense or immobile. It is useful for a number of problems that affect the muscles, tendons and bones and can address a number of other health problems.
Remedial massage is used to locate and repair damaged areas of the body and speed up the body’s own healing processes. The pressure applied in this healing treatment can either be strong and deep or gentle and shallow, depending on the problem.
Problems with the muscles can trigger or radiate pain to other parts of the body. Remedial massage aims to trace the original reason for the pain, tackling both the cause of the problem and the symptoms.

Lymphatic drainage can also be used to help people who have had damage to their lymphatic system following surgery, trauma or due to developmental disorders.
Lymphatic massage has very light pressure because the lymphatic system is close to the surface of the skin. It is not like a regular massage that has deeper pressure to massage the muscles. It also has a specific sequence to ensure the blocked lymph areas are cleared and the lymph is being moved in the right direction.

The Australian Government, Osteopathy Australia and it's governing bodies are urging Allied Health Clinics and Professionals to stay open for business during the COVID - 19 pandemic. This is partly to take the strain off GP clinics and Accident and Emergency Departments across the country for individuals who are presenting with musculoskeletal pain and complaints, as well as allowing these individuals to seek treatment from their healthcare professionals.
Rewind Osteopathic and Massage Clinic is taking all known precautionary measures at the clinic including kindly requesting our patients to utilize the hand sanitization station as you enter the clinic and of course if you have any flu like symptoms or feel fatigued, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment to a later date.
